Stitch something heartfelt with this set of Valentine’s Day stick-and-stitch embroidery stickers, featuring 12 pre-printed designs ready to peel, stick, and stitch.
These wash-away embroidery transfer stickers include lady bugs (or love bugs) with flowers and romantic floral heart designs, making them perfect for Valentine’s projects, handmade gifts, and seasonal décor. No printing required — just peel, stick, and start stitching!

For this sweet little bug example, I used the following DMC threads: 310, 367, 760, 3832
To outline the face, I used 2 strands of 310, back stitch. For the antenna, I used only 1 strand. The mouth was 2 strands, back stitch. The eyes, arms, and legs were all 2 strands, satin stitch.
For the wings, I almost went with red, but instead decided to make them dark pink, since she is a “love bug”, but red would be beautiful too. I started with the hearts, using 2 strands of DMC 310 to satin stitch. Then I used 2 strands of DMC 3832 to outline and fill in the winds with a long/short stitch. The bow is the same color, 2 strands, to satin stitch.
For her flower, I did a satin leaf stitch (there may be a better name for this technique, that’s what I have been calling it). The petals are too big for a regular satin stitch, especially with stick and stitch. I don’t recommend doing a long satin stitch with stick and stitch, but this technique worked well for me.

I used DMC 760, 2 strands, and started at the top of the petal, and went down about half-way. For the next stitch, I alternated on each side, and ended the stitch at the bottom of the previous stitch, until you get to the end. Then you keep angling the stitches down until the petal is filled in.

For the stem, I used 2 strands of DMC 367, satin stitch, and then leaf stitch the leaves with the same color. I debated on whether or not to fill in the face and body, but I didn’t want to take away the focus from her sweet little bug face.
I will try and update soon with more examples of love bugs! Happy Valentine’s Day!
