My newest pattern on Etsy, Coastal Summer, has some fun, simple designs for quick and easy stitching. Here are a few examples I have done.

There are many different ways you can embroidery this pattern. For a fun quick simple project, I used:
- 2 strands, DMC 3833, chain stitch for the strap
- 2 strands, DMC 840, back stitch

For the seashells, I decided to try out variegated threads. I like the outlined, back stitched version better. The satin stitch has more of a drastic change in the colors, since the stitch uses up more thread on the back of the embroidery.
- 2 strands of DMC 4523 to back stitch the shell on the left, the bottom corners of the shell were filled in with 2 strands of DMC 452 with satin stitch
- 2 strands of DMC 4523 to satin stitch the shell on the right, the bottom of the shell was outlined with 2 strands of DMC 452 back stitch.
- bubbles: 2 strands of DMC 598 satin stitch

- Flag and stripes: 2 strands DMC 22, satin stitch. Outline remainder of sails with back stitch
- Hull- 2 strands DMC 840 brick stitch (back stitch variation, staggered to give it a woven look), top edge was satin stitch
- Mast- 2 strands DMC 840 back stem stitch
- Water- 2 strands DMC 597 back stitch
- Sun- 2 strands DMC 744 satin stitch, rays of sun were back-stitched
I hope this helps to get you started on some summer projects! You can find this pattern on Etsy here: Coastal Summer
