beach themed embroidery patterns, featuring surfboards, umbrellas, sunset, sea shells, sea horse, turtle, coconut tree

This is my beach embroidery set I designed last year. It has several quick and simple designs for summer projects, perfect for tote bags, baby gifts, etc. One of the reviews I received said they used it to make Florida beach themed Christmas ornaments!

For this image, I used 2 strands each of:

  • Surfboards- blue DMC 3810, back stitch, orange DMC 722 back stitch
  • Coconut Tree- green DMC 981 back stitch leaves, satin stitch grass
  • Coconuts- DMC 3862 satin stitch
  • Tree and sand- DMC 3862 back stitch

Umbrella, 2 strands of:

  • blue DMC 3810 back stitch
  • brown DMC 434 back stitch
  • sand- DMC 3864 back stitch

For the sunset patterns, there are so many options. I debated on filling in everything with satin stitch, short long stitch, or brick stitch. Long satin stitches do not work well with stick and stitch, they can lose their shape after you wash away the stabilizer. I chose to use the following: 2 strands each of: sun- DMC 726 brick stitch, rays whipped back stitch; waves- blue 3810 back stitch, pink DMC 224 back stitch

There are so many different options you can use for all the designs. I hope you enjoy! You can find the links to the patterns here: DIGITAL PDF DOWNLOAD
