🎄 Hand Embroidered Christmas Stick & Stitch Patterns

There’s something so cozy and nostalgic about hand embroidery during the holiday season. This is my second set of Christmas themed stick and stitch patterns from my Etsy shop. They are the perfect way to bring a bit of handmade charm to your décor, gifts, and craft projects.

This collection includes a mix of classic festive motifs—Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, reindeer, holly, ornaments, bells, stockings, and wrapped gifts—all designed to be simple enough for beginners while still fun for experienced stitchers.

✨ What You’ll Love About These Patterns

  • Instant download – print or use the stick-and-stitch stickers directly on fabric.
  • Beginner-friendly outlines – easy to trace or stick and start stitching right away.
  • Versatile designs – use them to decorate gift tags, napkins, tote bags, felt ornaments, or even clothing.
  • Whimsical line art – classic Christmas imagery drawn in a sweet, modern style that fits any color palette.

🧵 Materials You’ll Need

  • Embroidery hoop (3–6 inches)
  • Cotton or linen fabric (or felt if you’re making ornaments)
  • Embroidery floss in festive colors (reds, greens, golds, white, and silver are favorites)
  • Embroidery needle
  • Scissors
  • Optional: stick-and-stitch stabilizer sheets

🎁 How to Use the Designs

  1. Cut out your chosen pattern and place it where you’d like to embroider.
  2. Stick or trace the design onto your fabric.
  3. Stitch along the lines, adding your favorite textures and colors.
  4. Once finished, rinse away the stabilizer (if using stick and stitch) and allow to dry.
  5. Use your stitched pieces as ornaments, tags, or add them to handmade gifts!

🌟 Creative Ideas

  • Make a set of felt ornaments with blanket stitch edges
  • Stitch onto gift bags or wrapping fabric for reusable eco-friendly wrapping.
  • Create embroidered cards for a personal handmade touch.

🎅 Stitch Details

My current project obsession is making felt gift tags. They turned out beautifully, and they are reusable for other gifts or as Christmas ornaments. More instructions on this project are coming soon! Here are the stitches and colors used for these berries. Be careful when you choose to do satin stitch with stick and stitch embroidery. Large stitches do not hold up well, but these berries were the perfect size.

Holly & Berries

  • berries- 3 strands of DMC 304, satin stitch
  • leaves- 3 strands of DMC 3022 & DMC 3051, leaf stitch
  • stem- 3 strands of DMC 9, stem stitch

Holly & Berries 2

  • berries- 3 strands of DMC 666, satin stitch
  • leaves- 3 strands leaf stitch
  • stem- 3 strands of DMC 9, back stitch

I have been excited to stitch up this Santa pattern. Since it was done on red felt, it was mostly outlined with a back stitch in white.

  • eyes- 3 strands of DMC satin stitch
  • nose- 3 strands of DMC 758, back stitch
