Celebrate the season with The Stitched Storybook’s Christmas Dog Embroidery Patterns — 10 cute Golden Doodle designs you can stick, stitch, and rinse away! These charming patterns are perfect for holiday décor, handmade gifts, or cozy winter stitching projects. The pattern is available in both pre-printed stickers or as a PDF download.

I had made a Golden Doodle embroidery set in the past, in honor of my sweet dog, Bowie. My daughter is obsessed with drawing pictures of him, so I based the design off of her drawings. She just turned 13, and she is one of my biggest helpers with testing my patterns. She embroidered these here:

My daughter also embroidered this sweet little Christmas puppy. The red nose was her idea, and I love how it turned out.

  • 2 strands of brown (DMC 839) to back stitch the face and body.
  • 2 strands of DMC Ecru to back stitch the antlers
  • 2 strands of red (DMC 666) to satin stitch the nose, the bow, and then french knots for the center of the bow
  • 2 strands of black (DMC 310) to satin stitch the eyes
  • 1 strand of black (DMC 310) to outline the mouth with small back stitches

This was my puppy:

  • oval- DMC 9, 3 strands, back stitch
  • leaves- DMC 3051 & 3347, 2 strands, lazy daisy
  • berries- DMC 303, 2 strands, french knot
  • hat- DMC 666, 2 strands, short/long stitch fill
  • hat- DMC white, 2 strands, chain stitch fill
  • french knot for ball of hat, 2 strands
  • ears and body DMC 7, 2 strands, split stitch
  • face and stomach- DMC 6, 2 strands, split stitch
  • 2 stands of black DMC 310 to satin stitch the eyes and nose
  • 2 strands of black DMC 310 to back stitch the mouth

I can’t wait to stitch more of these adorable puppies for Christmas ornaments! We used 4-inch and 6-inch hoops for the embroidery, but framed them in 3-inch hoops. Once we add a ribbon, they’ll be ready to hang on the tree.
